Frequently asked questions about our snacks

The following questions relate to our Trainee Snack and Stripe Snack segment:

In addition to visual design adjustments, our snack bags are now made of mono-material. You can recognise this by the green icon. Monomaterial means that the packaging is only made from one type of material, making the recycling process easier. Unlike products that are made up of several materials, monomaterials do not have to be broken down into their various components. This increases the efficiency of recycling and reduces the likelihood of materials ending up in landfill.

With the introduction of our new production facility, we have taken the opportunity to improve not only our packaging but also the recipe of our snacks. The quality of our products remains our top priority. Whilst pure fillet is considered to be of very high quality for humans, dogs and cats require a comprehensive supply of all nutrients from the meat to fulfil their needs completely and naturally. Our advanced processing methods now allow us to process meat with a more balanced nutritional profile, which was previously not possible. This approach reflects our commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.

Some of our snacks contain a modified fat content to provide your four-legged friend with extra energy and an improved, rich flavour. This carefully adapted recipe not only supports your pet's vitality, but also promotes a shiny coat and general health. The high meat content of 95% in our snacks naturally leads to a correspondingly higher fat content.

Our recipe is now supplemented with 5% valuable vegetable protein. We use peas, for example, which are rich in zinc and selenium. These minerals can strengthen the immune system and support important metabolic processes. In addition to protein, peas also contain fibre, vitamins and minerals such as iron, potassium and vitamin C. These nutrients contribute to the overall health and vitality of dogs and cats, and the addition of pea protein to our snacks helps to maintain the optimum consistency. It acts as a natural binder and texture enhancer to improve the structure and consistency of a snack. It helps to hold the ingredients in the snack together and create a pleasant texture. This allows us to better shape and cut our snacks and offer them in different shapes and sizes. Peas contain a high proportion of vegetable protein. Protein is an essential nutrient for dogs as it helps build and repair tissue, including muscle, and pea protein contains a balanced mix of amino acids that are essential for dogs. Dogs require different amino acids to fulfil their health needs and pea protein can help to meet these requirements.

Yes, as we attach great importance to natural ingredients, especially when it comes to fresh meat, there may be slight colour variations in the snacks from time to time. As part of the changeover to the new production facilities, we have also switched to reliable meat suppliers in order to increase our product availability and to continue to be your reliable supplier of high-quality meat products for dogs and cats. As meat is a natural raw material, occasional variations in visual and olfactory impressions cannot be ruled out.

Our snacks are of course still grain-free. To emphasise this, we have now also placed the icon on the packaging. This means that this benefit is directly visible to everyone.

The slight differences in the size of our Trainee Snacks are due to the manual cutting and moulding during the production process. While fully automated production often ensures a very uniform product size, our artisanal processing allows each snack to retain its individual flavour. These variations have no influence on the quality of our snacks; rather, we see them as proof of the natural character and authenticity of our products.

A snack for all dogs and cats. We have exactly the right size and quantity in our range to suit a wide variety of needs. Thanks to a large selection of different protein sources, there really is something for every taste.
